@writingbyisa Tbh, wasn't that big a deal. It's a common procedure, and seeing as I'd had it done once before (in the UK), and also seeing as I'd gone to A&E straight away, they could do it there & then. But it's a good after-dinner tale. I've had it once since which they cured with a tablet🤣

@MissLeppard_YR You have a book in you, no doubt. Start keeping notes. I did this when I first moved to Spain to teach a class of yr3 Spaniards their entire curriculum in English. It ended up as 2 books.

The thing I love about being a teacher is saying phrases you’d never hear in other professions. Today I said “why are Mr Potato Head’s glasses in the supermarket cash register and why is the Barbie in the microwave?”. Every day brings new, weird & wonderful things; I love it😂

@VEverettmfl @KKNTeachLearn Yes, I'm imposing my will to give all the children a good working atmosphere. Can't see an issue. Isn't asking them to fill from the back 'imposing your will'? Or setting them some (home)work? Unless it's voluntary? Or expecting them to attend at all...?

@KKNTeachLearn It's a tricky one isn't it. Do it from random data? Or use the girls as some kind of barrier against boys sitting together? Seems to be an exercise in imposing your will on the pupils. As pupils arrive, I ask them to fill up from the back.

@MLautmer Yes, I agree. But I was 12-16 years of age when I hated French, and in my 40s when I started learning Spanish (having traveled a lot in Latin America and Spain).

@JeremyJoseDean Interesting that you hated learning French but still decide to learn Spanish afterwards!

#langtwt For language lovers who grew up unilingual, was the first non-native language you learned a personal choice or was it imposed on you? If it was the latter what made you want to continue learning other languages?

@KKNTeachLearn And if it doesn't? Then what are you left with? A guessing game/lottery while the class waits. I certainly wouldn't recommend this. My advice? If you're going to use a seating plan, then ask previous teachers what worked and what didn't and start from there. You can adjust later
