I think Dodger fans are living proof that sports fandom might just be a continuous cycle of misery for most people regardless of team performance. This fanbase has:
- watched their team win back to back WS in a row, beating rival teams on the path to doing so
- continuously own every team the Dodgers are rivals with
- always have exciting home grown talent to watch throughout every level of their farm
- root for the best player all time
- have an owner worth hundreds of billions of dollars that spends endless money on the franchise
And still find ways to cry, be miserable, and complain about what other teams are doing on the internet lol. Man, if I watched my team win back to back I'd log tf off the internet for years and not feel an ounce of suffering for a decade minimum😂

The Toronto Blue Jays appear to still be agitated by at least one thing from last year’s World Series: how long it takes Shohei Ohtani to warm up when he’s on the mound. nytimes.com/athletic/71836…

@AndrewStoeten @Thomas_Howden Who CARES if players complain, you have Shohei freaking Ohtani! Why get all pissy about it and whine? Maybe just let players complain and keep your mouth shut?

@TorontoStar @mynamesnotgordy Doug doesn’t care because he’s not running in the next election.
He will disappear into the Muskoka region.

Doug Ford's FOI moves driving down support for Progressive Conservatives, survey finds trib.al/EJb09g4

Here's a challenge for you. Name a politician on the "other side" that you don't mind and may not entirely agree with, but can see some common ground and sensibilities within.
I will go first.
I think Erin O'Toole has some good takes sometimes and I while I absolutely don't agree with him always, I can at least find some common footing with him now.
English

Premier Doug Ford has claimed the public isn't concerned about his government's FOI changes.
Recent polling from Liaison and now Abacus suggests the decision has driven down his support to 39% - the lowest level since 2024.

@samoosterhoff @niagaracatholic @OECTAProv @OECTA_NEU @PaulCalandra $750 per classroom in new funding for Staples.
Rather than getting way more value for money buying supplies in bulk.
Rather than tendering out this contract and getting a better price, it’s sole sourced for Staples.
English

$750 in new funding for every classroom in Ontario!
That’s the news I shared with students and staff at @niagaracatholic St. Martin School in Smithville - more resources for students and staff.
Great to see @OECTAProv @OECTA_NEU there too!

That's not getting ejected because of a balk call.
That's the kettle blowing after: a winless April so far; having five starting pitchers on the injured list; the only catcher that can be relied upon out at least six weeks and the pressure being ratcheted up within the walls.

Municipalities are forced to increase property taxes to deliver services that are @fordnation's responsibility, but that they aren't actually providing.
Even though you've already paid your provincial taxes for those services.
You're paying twice for services that are worse.

"There's $4 billion in shortfall that municipalities are using property taxes to fund provincial responsibilities." Whitby Mayor @ElizabethJRoy tells @MooreintheAM that municipalities have delayed the development of new parks, repairing roadways and sidewalks to make up the gap.
English

@kittythefool @harleyf @MrLeslieRoberts This doesn’t make sense. It’s the taxes keeping people alive longer. That’s the point.
English

@harleyf @MrLeslieRoberts Could be everyone trying to live long enough to afford the taxes

@mikewal16285187 @globalnewsto The Ford ads were running all last year, including during the World Series.
I think another point here is this: why do you think there are so many more people questioning the Ford government about their ad spending? People are suspicious of Ford because of all the corruption.
English

@JeremyPyatt @globalnewsto And to the OPs post,Fords Ontario ads have only been running in 2026,so wouldnt that question be better asked next year?
