Parents: Be very, very selective and careful about childhood sleepovers. Very careful. It takes one kid's smart phone to put images into your child's mind that will last a lifetime. It takes one older-brother's friend to take your child's innocence forever. It takes one adult's lapse in judgement or character to powerfully impact your child in a negative way. If you choose sleepovers for your kids, do not be afraid to ask hard questions about personal and digital safety. Be upfront about your expectations. Ministry is not for the faint of heart. If you need constant affirmation, appreciation for your efforts, applause for your preaching, praise for your leadership, or abundant patience when you fail, this calling will crush you. It’s not that these never occur—they do—but never with the frequency required to sustain a man who depends on them for his joy. The formula is simple: Love. Lead. Limp. Do this faithfully for a few decades, then embrace obscurity and die. The world may not notice, but the Savior you served will, and His reward is greater than anything you sought from men.

My statement on President Trump trial verdict: Today is a shameful day in American history. Democrats cheered as they convicted the leader of the opposing party on ridiculous charges, predicated on the testimony of a disbarred, convicted felon. This was a purely political exercise, not a legal one. The weaponization of our justice system has been a hallmark of the Biden Administration, and the decision today is further evidence that Democrats will stop at nothing to silence dissent and crush their political opponents.   The American people see this as lawfare, and they know it is wrong—and dangerous. President Trump will rightfully appeal this absurd verdict—and he WILL WIN!
