It would be accurate and informative for this report to say Trump “mentioned” the economy in “rambling, dishonest attacks on Harris.” Why choose not to be accurate and informative?

This is devastating. Joel is one of the greatest people and journalists I've ever known. Whoever hires him will be incredibly lucky.

Hey folks, I was one of 4 people laid off by Slate & today will be my last day. Obviously, I’ll be looking for work. Hit me at joelanderson12@gmail.com. Apologies in advance if it takes a while to respond; I just now tested positive for covid and I’m gassed. Thx for the support!

@BenMathisLilley Reading a lot about polls and what a person is "coded" as vs. policies, and how voters respond to those two things. I don't profess to actually know the answer. Joe Biden went left in 2020 and was coded a certain way and eked out a win (against the worst president in history).

@Taniel Whatever happens in this primary, Richer is the Recorder this November. And there's also a general election in November.... Richer won by the slimmest margin last time against a Democrat and he was not an election deniar.

We don't know the full scope yet — but this seems to me likely to end up as great night for the far-right in Arizona, and specifically for election deniers working to overturn elections. Their incumbents are largely ahead, & they seem poised to take over very critical positions.

@rickhasen I think the correct interpretation is: I'll achieve and lock in all of the goals of Christian nationalists, so you won't have to sweat voting for a degenerate like me ever again.

I had a slightly different take: if elected he’d eliminate so much election fraud (lol) that he’d end up winning in a landslide and wouldn’t need religious Christians to turn out to vote
Orin Kerr@OrinKerr

I'm not one to defend Trump, but I disagree w/the many claiming that Trump said there would be no more elections if he wins. I hear him more as just saying he'll do such a fantastic job he'll save the country so the stakes of future elections will be a lot lower.
