@Moparduck @billoram When Cronin stated they are not on a timeline it’s because they’re at the mercy of the jury I would imagine. Once a verdict comes out they will know how much they will need to spend to make this all go away.

Don't the Blazers need to resolve the question of Chauncey Billups' employment at some point? It's bonkers that we are two months into rampant speculation about his replacement and the team still doesn't officially have an opening.

“Innocent until proven guilty” will hold a lot of weight in an employment lawsuit regarding wrongful termination, especially if he ends up getting off without an admission of guilt. I’m assuming league and team lawyers are requiring this course of action until it’s resolved. What will be interesting is how much he gets paid depending on how the federal case resolves itself.

@ScottGKraft @billoram I think that it’s to see if the trail leads to a guilty verdict leading to a misconduct in his contract that makes it null and void. At this point the team is off the hook for any form of compensation due to a breach of contract and he would in a sense “quit” as head coach

@billoram Yea you would know better than me but I assumed either the NBA dictated this unpaid leave until the charges are resolved or the team is afraid they'd have to pay him if he's fired before that. Not sure anyone anticipated a sitting head coach being arrested on mob related charges
