KYC with ZKP (Zero-Knowledge Proof). Here is how I think online identity verification can be done differently. Please read this as a more of a big picture view. Not going into the cryptography details, as this is still an area that I am reading up on. Firstly, it is important that we distinguish between ‘identifier’ and ‘identity’. The platform does not need to know your birthdate, your home address, your MyKad IC number, your birthplace,.. The platform only needs to know that you are a Malaysian who is 13 years old or older. You should be able to prove that without handing over all the details of your government-issued document, i.e., MyKad. This is the whole concept of Zero-knowledge Proof. Instead of handing over your entire document, you can prove certain facts about yourself without revealing everything else. To me, this is how we should go about when implementing ‘Digital ID’. Think of it as a ‘proof-of-personhood’ mechanism, and not as a form of online tracking. Even if we are looking at centralised Digital ID management, we should go about it within a stronger privacy-focused framework. I don’t know the exact details of the implementation for MyDigital ID, but I would like to see that the system gives a reference identifier to platforms to store for the KYC process instead of the entire user’s data. The online platform can use this reference identifier to verify certain claims the user is making, i.e., older than 13 years old. This reference identifier would be unique, platform-specific, non-reusable. That way, Platform A couldn’t correlate a user with Platform B. Again, I do not know how exactly MyDigital ID will be implemented, I would love to read up on its technical implementation. Maybe some of this privacy focus, and personal data sovereignty, is already built-in. I do believe that ‘Digital ID’ if done right, heavily focusing on privacy-preserving and verification, instead of tracking and surveillance, can be a good thing.

The speed at which FF announced this is the only clue you need - Gov has been keeping this in their pocket, and was just looking for an appropriate excuse to shove it down our throats. Some crucial points: 1. Even if you support age verification for social media (which is understandable), you should NOT support mandatory linking of a government-issued ID to social media profiles. 2. Gov should do the legwork first - come up with an OPEN-SOURCED mechanism for a way to prove age with zero-knowledge (meaning: the social media platform only verifies that you are > 12 or 18), without the social media platform ever knowing your official identity. 3. Don't be naive. Election season is coming up. There's a reason gov wants this - it is a direct route to shutting down free expression. Let me remind PH folks - one of the crucial tools in toppling the corrupt Najib gov was a free Internet. Don't allow the gov a free pass on this. Just because we agree with the goal of protecting children, doesn't mean this is the solution. And a final thought - if it wasn't painfully obvious already, PH no longer represents the principles they tunggang to win.

For those of you who are wondering, this is from the book The Colour of Inequality, and I assume the RM1 was a typo that was not corrected (MPH as your publisher, IYKYK). That being said, OP doesn't actually know how to interpret this data correctly. Let's take a look:

When analyzing students admission to unis by racial composition, we shouldn’t omit the interethnic wealth disparity. It is found that the highest beneficiary are the Chinese according to their financial and property assets. The numbers are laid down and numbers dont lie..

@tulunsokit @1Obefiend Has anyone tried it? I did some reading and some say that they're even more addictive. Also not sure if the alcohol content in the spray is acceptable. Been considering it but the 2 points have held me back.

@1Obefiend Me. Problem is you end up using the vape even more and end up dependant on the vape. Best option right now is likely the nicorette oral spray. Which makes more sense

@unifi Can you at least be more transparent instead of the same copy paste answer? It's half a day wasted waiting for your technician to come. The appointment was at 930am. Your customers cannot waste an entire day waiting for an answer or someone to show up. Half a day wasted waiting.

@NewsBFM Yet @BNM_official has never regulated how the banks mislead the interest promoted for their Personal Loans. Banks should not quote it based on P.A and hide the Effective Interest Rate (EIR) in their T&C's. The EIR should be front and center.

A new law regulating monetary loans offered by non-bank affiliated institutions will be introduced next year. Finance Minister II Amir Hamzah said the law, aimed to control loan issuance, is in response to the rise of non-bank entities offering loans such as buy now pay later schemes. 🧵1
