In a statement, the budget airline said it has “started an orderly wind-down of our operations, effective immediately” after failing to secure a government bailout. The shutdown follows years of financial struggles, rising costs, and growing debt after the COVID-19 pandemic. About 17,000 jobs could be impacted.
