Go ahead and keep calling them “permanent underclass” and “have fun being poor”. Just be as smug as possible and wave fingers at them
I’m sure this won’t further their resentment or radicalize them, and they’ll just keep their heads down

@rachael_chan88 @bilaltwovec Me pulling up to the boarder tryna explain how a PM is a scientific technician 😌
English

@JerryDizs @bilaltwovec yeah most other companies try to get j1 iirc
English

@rachael_chan88 @bilaltwovec Haven’t heard of it working for any company other than tsla

What if you took a gap semester instead? They're also risky but less risky than the sunk cost of changing majors. You could pursue stuff and figure out what you want. There was a major decision I had to make once in a related avenue and I wish I'd taken a gap instead.
I think if you're miserable though, I lean towards leaving

@JerryDizs i dont mind living a little further like brooklyn/jersey city, i just haven't been able to get many replies from facebook 🙁
English

@JerryDizs Also, I don’t know you and I don’t want to accidentally completely fuck up your life so please take this as one random person on the internet’s hot take.
English

@nottrustfundkid Ya, I wouldn't even be doing UofT's business program LOL, I'd be doing an infosys degree just to get something and be done with it.
English

@KevGCallahan Did you find your Ivey degree useful even for a career in tech? I know it's good for consulting/financing etc, but for tech I haven't seen people care too much about what degree you have.
English

If it’s 2 years (more like 16 month) in London vs Toronto that’s not really a problem.
I’d suggest going to the best most prestigious program you can get into because it will open more doors.
Also, a couple of years at a school like western in a town like London is incredible in so many ways.
English

@KevGCallahan I need a degree for visa purposes so dropping out isn't an option.
Trade off of = being more optionality in Toronto, more time to self learn, but in a really, truly weak program vs Ivey career safety/prestige, but maybe there are benefits I'm not seeing?
English

@KevGCallahan Heading into Ivey business at Western, but I'm a designer/developer and don't plan to pursue a business career.
Weighing the pros/cons of sitting in mandatory business classes every day vs just getting a random degree at UofT that'll give me the flexability to learn.
English

@JerryDizs oh thats actually chill then u should do it its gunna be an extra 2 for ivey anyway
English

@suryasure05 @isnortmatcha Backup option, worse case idk, there's merit to having a fallback right? The UofT degree is geuinlly so wishy washy with it's coursework, not that Ivey courses aren't useless but at least it's a prestigious program.
Like thug it out for two more years vs bailing idk.
English

@JerryDizs @isnortmatcha just do it ngl, all your reasons are valid and it seems the only thing stopping you is your fear
