This is the video of the 34 Megawatts Independent Power Plant in Itori, Ogun State, which will be among the landmark projects of Governor @DapoAbiodunCON that is being commissioned in Ogun State today by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu @officialABAT (GCFR). The power plant is a gas turbine plant. It has been designed and built not just for today, but for the future of reliable electricity in Abeokuta and beyond. It is supported by a 33kVA/415 distribution infrastructure, with a clear and inclusive plan for retail metering. The plant has already begun operations with an initial 3MW supply, now powering government offices, buildings, and residences in Abeokuta. But this is only the foundation. This is a project delivered by the administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun. It is a clear statement that stable power is no longer a promise, but a priority being actively executed in Ogun State since power generation was removed from the exclusive list by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu admin. There is a timeline to scale the power plant to its full capacity of 34MW (people in the power sector understand this). When this is realized, it will guarantee uninterrupted power supply across Abeokuta and neighboring areas. Which will unlock another level of productivity in business and improve the everyday life of the people. This project is part of the broader 100MW “Light Up Ogun State” initiative. A bold, forward-looking vision conceived under Governor Dapo Abiodun to drive Ogun State towards energy sufficiency and independence. There are other 30–34MW plants being developed in Ota and Ijebu Ode as well. This is not a one-off achievement, but a coordinated effort to permanently change the power reality of Ogun State. This is how progress is built. History will be kind to Prince Dapo Abiodun. Whoever takes over from him MUST continue in this path.
