Chaque bombe de plus sur l’Iran accélère le passage de ce seuil. Beaucoup considèrent désormais que la seule voie viable pour l’Iran est de se doter de l’arme nucléaire. Ils n’auront jamais la paix sans disposer des moyens de dissuasion nucléaire dont Israël est équipé. Seule la conformité aux lois de leur foi et de leur monde les a dissuadés de le faire jusqu’à aujourd’hui. Les États-Unis viennent de donner un argument de poids aux réalistes politiques iraniens. Même si Israël et les États-Unis tuaient 5 millions d’Iraniens, rien n’empêcherait ce pays de se doter des moyens de sa protection et de sa survie. Chaque aggravation de la pression rapproche l’Iran du stade où les verrous éthiques sautent face à l’enjeu de vie ou de mort.
