@Cathal63594867 @DubCham It is the taxpayers’ street. Therefore no one person can commander it. So we all pay for the upkeep and use of that street do they cannot fence it off and charge people to use it. It’s Pretty simple - it’s not their problem land.

The pedestrianisation of streets around the Grafton Street area provided a significant lift for businesses last weekend. The public seemed to enjoy it too. We’re delighted to hear that this weekend’s event will see times extended to 11am-11pm. #BetterDublin

@rtenews Did you report on Trinity handing out contracts worth millions without a tender process? Or on the court case they recently settled out of court for further dodgy procurement? trinitynews.ie/2020/07/colleg…

We are well under way in planting wildflower meadows outside our iconic Front Gate after thousands of people voted earlier this year to replace the manicured lawns with this more nature-friendly alternative. Read more at: bit.ly/3fb9L9a #SustainableTrinity

@MUHost_Path @DubCityCouncil They need to pay rent on the street and it needs to be an agreed space. they can’t just take over as much as they like. What if the shop opposite claims the same amount of space? There is no thought being put into this. the Street does not belong to that business.

@MUHost_Path @DubCityCouncil It will be the same experience as you can see they are letting private businesses fence off half the public street for themselves. Try doing that outside your house...

@DubCityCouncil Good, but not enough. I tried to shop in the area yesterday and gave up frustrated because these narrow streets are still given over to cars during the week while pedestrians find it impossible to keep a distance due to lack of space. Just do it permanently and do it now.

@DubCityCouncil Why are private businesses being allowed to fence off public areas paid for by the taxpayer? Are they paying rent on our street? This is wrong. No way should they be allowed to occupy so much of the street, esp if not paying rent.

@98FM What’s the point of car free when private businesses are taking over half of the taxpayers’ street? I pay for that street and much of it can’t be used now unless I pay that private business to sit there. wrong.
