My ex-husband says he has limited time to catch up with me when I am working down south next week, as he is in the middle of a large campaign for a client. He's a graphic designer and quite good with the ol' Photoshop... hmm... 🤨🤔

My 8 yr old started a conversation with me recently: 8 yr old: Mummy, why is everything you write about, about death? Me: Well I think it’s something that people are scared talking about 8 yr old: But that’s like being scared of sunset, there is nothing you can do about it…

Have you had a conversation about death, dying or grief recently? How was it? Answers in a tweet! Let’s talk about #SmallThingsBigDifference & #TheValueOfDeath with a view to improving our experiences of life and death.

OTs help you to help yourself. It's not their job to 'train' you. They teach you how you can own your own body, how to listen to it, how to learn from it, how to work it so that it can work.

I'm not sure why #OccupationalTherapy is trending today but it reminds me that it was wonderful occupational therapists working with physiotherapists and nurses at St Pancras Rehabilitation Hospital who taught me to stand up and walk, all done with care, kindness and great skill

Told today that it is NHS policy not to tell colleagues if we test +ve for COVID, and are advised to come in and work as normal if well enough. We have been discouraged from testing at all. Don't staff and pts have a right to know and be protected? 😢 #covid #longcovid

@EnableOT Is it to differentiate between the function - being able to feed yourself and the act of eating- manipulating food in your mouth/swallowing etc. Occupational therapy assess the former and Speech &Language therapy latter. I agree the word has negative connotations though.

Why do we continue to use the word "feeding" in many AHP services? Yes sometimes it is about someone being fed, but often it's about eating. Maybe it's just me but "feeding" is so passive (inaccurate) and gives me the ick.

@RCOT_CYPF Just a heads up, the term “children with neurodiversity” doesn’t make sense. It would be better phrased “neurodivergent children”. Neurodiverse can only refer to a group, an individual is neurodivergent. +identity first language is generally preferred

After being slightly horrified at the thought of a magenta and green uniform, delighted to read that Occupational therapists (and physiotherapists) will retain a white tunic/top as part of the NHS uniform changes!

Not surprising findings here. Very aware of the importance and value added by OT within an acute setting, working in an integrated physiotherapy and occupational therapy department @JPUHTherapies 💚💙
