@Chrishood57 @higgy366 I’m not sure there’s much choice but for certain actions to be cited. There’s obvious footage of the punches for one. The citing process wouldn’t be sour grapes as that’s independent at least. Can’t have multiple punches ignored if we want the game to be taken seriously and grow.

@Chrishood57 @higgy366 A shame, but felt this was always going to happen after the football. Argentina using the emotions from that in the complete wrong way. Interesting what more will come from the match, particularly the players actions and reactions after the final whistle!

@Chrishood57 @higgy366 Seems like he may have been punched three times then. And this was only a few minutes in wasn’t it? Ref never had proper control over this. Wild that England got a penalty against them for what happened in all of that.

@penguin_charl To be honest I’m not sure I blame him for wanting to get out of there. The Argentinians make it very difficult to want pull for them at all. The TMO was absolutely bang on with his interpretation, poor from the ref at the end. Not sure he ever had control of the match sadly.

@JessKebbell Even when he awarded it his wording was very clear it was the TMO decision! He seemed like he just wanted to get out of there.

Bloody hell Gardner, that was (I think) pretty conclusively out. Good on the TMO for sticking to his guns there, others would just say ‘if you’re happy…’. What a mess of a game from start to finish 😂
