Coach Durbin here.
My response Regarding the accusations of Yonger using HGH.
I can assure you Yonger’s transition from 197 to heavy in one year’s time was in pure form. I expect an apology within 72hrs otherwise there will be more coming your way. @mrfasttwitch

The bat flip debate is so dumb.
The WBC is an *international* tournament. And different countries have different baseball cultures.
🇰🇷 In the KBO, bat flipping is part of the game, and considered an art form in its own right.
🇯🇵 NPB pitchers tip their hat and bow after giving up a home run. If they don’t, its considered disrespectful to the hitter.
🇺🇸 MLB has a more “professional” culture, like Japan. Lot’s of unwritten rules that emphasize humility and sportsmanship.
🇩🇴🇵🇷🇨🇺 The Caribbean Leagues are by far the loudest and most “extra.” Bat flips, excessive celebrations, etc.
We should be embracing these differences.

It’s so refreshing when players hit a home run, do a subtle bat flip and act like they’ve been there before. This is so much more tuff than doing jumping jacks and euro steps around the bases.

People can say Ohtani is better, that’s fine.
But..
Ohtani hit .105 in 24 WS and still won. He didn’t play last WBC game and won. 0-3 the game before and won. 7.56 ERA in the ‘25 WS and won. Was hitting .157 in ‘25 playoffs, and was still 8-1 up 3-0 in NLCS before he showed up.

Aaron Judge is a great player, but if the 2024 WS and 2026 WBC have taught us anything it’s this - Aaron Judge is no Shohei Ohtani

In 2019, an 18-year-old Travis Bazzana, playing for Australia’s 18U team, created a notes app on his phone of a possible 2025 (now 2026) WBC lineup for his national team. He had himself batting leadoff and playing second base.
Seven years later, here we are.
