@ThePhillyBird They need a 1C, but in the way Ryan O Reilly was a 1C. Someone who can play big minutes and enable the scorers in the wing to function, but not necessarily a guy that shoulders the scoring load

@JesseLarch While a superstar 1C would be incredible I would argue that the flyers really only need some solid centers in order to make things work. Moving coots to the 4th was huge. He produced well and made the 4th line so much better and Z started playing some decent C last season as well

@DucksDaily93 It sounds like Leo knew he had an offer for $18, was willing to walk away from that to come back to Anaheim for $15 and avoid all of this. Then when Verbeek wouldn’t budge he essentially made the decision for Leo. Verbeek’s hubris is the cause for all of this

This is such an indictment on Verbeek it really can’t be overstated. All of this over 2.5 million.
What’s not clear to me is if Carlsson and his agent communicated or showed Verbeek that the offer sheet was for 18 a year. It doesn’t seem like it, and that’s where my frustration, however minimal, with Leo lies. But it’s minimal
