The best work comes out of smart people who are left alone. That’s the only strategy you need, seriously.

Mark my words: one of the biggest winners from this cycle will be whoever sells the Norton/McAfee style consumer product that filters everything you see. Likely needs to be local model, putting Apple and Google in prime spot (though Microsoft is, in my opinion, likely to do an AI-first phone and fracture the Android ecosystem to achieve it, but that’s a thought for another tweet).

There are so many colds and bugs at my house I think the military should nuke it from orbit- it’s the only way to be sure

Some news: I'm now a partner at @SquarePegCap. Feels amazing to have the endorsement of this great team. Taking a moment to enjoy the milestone and remember my first Square Peg investment in @itsjustvow (cue goofy pic)

@yawnxyz @abbe_hyde So, ChatGPT's response to a prompt is based on a limited summary of the context (previous prompts to date) and Pinecone et al programatically resets the context? Selecting what context to send back in itself seems like a job for an AI agent, something like "focusGPT"?

@JesseMeek @abbe_hyde I think it’s more of a limitation to the ChatGPT interface itself; I think for tasks we don’t necessarily need long term memory. There’s ways to use a database and a vector database like Pinecone to selectively send in context right now, but that all requires code

@yawnxyz @abbe_hyde Nope. It’s so tempting to drop everything and build it 😣. I’d love to try Trello, Slack & Git with the goal of mimicking my normal collaborative workflow with our dev team: Turing test for software development

@JesseMeek @abbe_hyde have you tried playing with a Trello API yet, and either writing a custom plugin or with a Langchain wrapper?

@abbe_hyde It’s because when the conversation gets long, it starts to summarize all the information you give it, including all the previous messages. It’s trying to fit ALL the messages into its “short term memory” so it starts to “forget” - try starting a new chat!

@jamestynan @Chronicle_HQ Congrats James! Exciting. It’s one of those “it’s so obvious/needed, why hasn’t this been solved yet?” problems.

Very happy to finally tell people that we’ve co-led an investment in the amazing @Chronicle_HQ It’s weird. I have a hate/hate relationship with PowerPoint yet I’ve spent most of my career either making (McKinsey) or reading (VC) presentations. The reason I can’t quit is…

@vishy_wisy @allenholub The less your team communicates organically, the more management you need over them. The more management you need over them, the costlier it is to run them. And by costlier I don't just mean financially. Costly emotionally, spiritually, and financially.
