We are our own worse storytellers. Our minds will tell us tales about what ifs generating fear about negative results. But when you take those what ifs and turn those stories into positive results. Anything becomes possible.

@Ayotheauthor This poses the question - why are you trading the narrative? Is it to be more authentic or benefit yourself? Or is it because you see change as a means of escaping and coping?

You can escape one prison just to build another. You can quit your job and build another job you call a business. You can be a 'free thinker' who reflexively rejects conventional wisdom. Don't trade one narrative for another. Choose your own.

Don't see curiosity as a childish quality. See it as a growth mindset quality.

@JessicaFrayne Exactly! When someone comes up to me and asks "what can I write about in my stories?" I simply suggest them to write about their journey Journey of writing online, picking a new mindful habit and how they are doing better than yesterday. Stories are journeys and vice versa 🪄

You want to tell a story but you are struggling to identify moments you've transformed? First times. First-time experiences always result in transformation or growth. Reflect on your first times and you're bound to find inspiration.

I'm writing a science fiction novella. There is a plot point I had been stuck on since I started. Yesterday I solved it. Rather than picking at the sore point, I thought about aspects of the story I was happy with. The rest just fell into place.

In lead climbing, you climb above your rope's anchor point. Every inch you climb above that point will be the distance you fall. It's terrifying. But sometimes it's better to let go and know you are going to fall rather than to hold on, slipping and injuring yourself.

When you approach the world with a negative attitude it will be reflected back onto you. You will always find what you are looking for in the narrative.

We're surrounded by what I call "pocket dimensions". Niche interests and hobbies with deep complexities. Take fountain pens. It's not just about the pen. Are you writing or illustrating? Ink? Paper? The world is full of neverending dimensions if you are prepared to look.

@savuuemanuel Yeah even if those thoughts are trying to be creative you are building your brain "walls". Sometime it's best to just let go.

@thewritelegacy Yes! Sometimes thinking : "This seems like a terrible idea." but being able to go "Fuck it. what's the worse that can happen?" is the beginning of a transformation

18 answers so far and not a single one is the same. The takeaway: We understand each far less than we like to think.

@pialeichter This made me laugh out loud but it is beautiful at the same time. I've begun practicing stopping and consciously taking in moments. Attempting to cement slices in time in my mind.

Remember those teenage love stories? When neither of you could bare to hang up, so you just sat there, listening to each other breathing? Don't lose the infatuation with life 🙌🏽 And take heavy-breathing into adulthood (consensual of course).

@thewritelegacy Collaboration. In order to succeed within the context of our complex minds, weak young and creativity. To be able to share meaning and experience - and pass on that knowledge in order to increase the probability of success.

@Ayotheauthor This really goes for anything. People underestimate how many other people are very average if not bad at their jobs yet do okay for themselves. Being competent gets your more success relatively easily.

All you have to do is not SUCK and you'll make money. There are fully staffed marketing agencies that have zero clue what they're doing. If you are actually even semi-good, you're top 10 percent. Fulfillment is honestly horrendous for most agencies and freelancers.

@thewritelegacy One of those sneaky curve balls. That's a lot of suck and very sorry to hear - especially happening climbing. Hope you have a quick recovery and I am sure you will make something amazing happen despite the circumstances.

For 18 months I've been training for the world championships in my sport. But I fractured my foot last week in a climbing accident and can't go anymore. Life often doesn't pan out as you'd like. Yet this is when you discover the beauty's in the journey not the results.

Critical thinking has uses beyond "fact-checking". Questioning your own narratives and set of beliefs is a healthy form of introspection. It builds an understanding of where and why you have your unique perspective. And your perspective is how you experience the world.
