Huge thanks to @autisticrealms @ElaineMcgreevy and Katie Kerley for their wise contributions—it’s added so much depth to the book.

@brodstanaccount Right nevermind, I've just had a history lesson and I'm wrong in the above. We are not part of the British Isles but the the Atlantic aquaferius, or something that sounded like that.
English

@brodstanaccount Just to play devil's avocado: ireland is not part of of the UK, but is part of the British Isles. There are two sovereign states in the British Isles: Ireland and the United Kingdom. Mind you, don't dare call me British, as these days we have a different meaning for that word.

🌍 As a global community with Irish roots, we are closely following the upcoming referendum #CareRef.
Our board, in alignment with many disabled ppl, activists, orgs & legal experts, does not support the proposed change... /1

I will be voting Yes to the referendum on Family and No to the referendum on Care. And I urge all those with voting rights to consider doing the same.

Autistic Voices Roundtable Discussions: Respect for Autistic Autonomy youtube.com/live/lLUhJyhKj… via @YouTube
I've just finished this; I was not all that fluent, lacking spoons lately. It did get me thinking a lot more about #AutisticAutonomy. What everyone else said was very interesting, and I must watch it again.

Not to be missed and only about 2 months away now. It's a hybrid event online or inperson. I'm looking forward to speaking at it. Both on lived experience and professional experience. Normally I only do one so it will be fun to do too. #Neuroaffirmative #ActuallyAutistic #April #kildare #AutisticConference

Meds is a large area, What are we counting as meds? Psychiatric meds? Physical health meds? Only prescribed? Over the counter? I wonder will differnt people understand this question differently. I know its not research. It would be interesting to do a poll to see how many autistic/Neurodivergent people have ever been put on psychiatric meds in their lifetime.
English

#AskingAutistics
Had a conversation with a psychologist who sees mainly Neurodivergent clients.
They said every single client was on meds, said as ND ppl we need meds.
Are we all on meds?
No shame, no judgment, I just didn’t think being on meds was universal?

@naturetable A more than B but not really resonating with either.

@OglesbyMegan Thanks Meg, yes please DM, I'd love to know more your perception as a student and how you found it. I've read the course description too, but just hearing even similar information from different perspectives can help build a fuller picture of something.
English

@JessicaKDoyle Hi Jessica, you can find the answers to most of your questions in the course description, by following the link in the post, but I can DM you with more detail 😁.

Interested in neuropsychology? Course applications are open for the MSc in Applied Clinical Neuropsychology in Trinity College Dublin for 2024/25.
As a very recent graduate I’m happy to answer any questions about this fabulous course. tcd.ie/courses/postgr…

As the second last person said, yes, but we have a long way to go. Eek, this language is so important because neurodiversity is not about segregation or a synonym for Neurodivergence. Neurodiversity is about everyone. And you can't have neurodiverse people you can only have neurodiverse groups!!! For individuals who are Neurodivergent, the word is Neurodivergent. Neurodiverse groups contain a diversity of neurotypes. Please please please try and get this right. Our language informs are comprehension, our perceptions, our beliefs and how we act. This is soooo important.

Great video about Neurodiversity and Neurodiverse kids! Very informative and helpful. Neurodiversity is a natural and valuable form of human diversity. @NeurodIreland #Neurodivergent #neurodiversity #inclusion

@1queerautistic @autisticrealms @adult_autism I think neurodivergence should be a required psychology unit at universities. Most psychologists I've dealt with, don't understand Autism at all. 😢

@kryovene @ruledbymercuryy Now a reminder to me too. Thanks!
