I love my community. That is the fundamental reason I chose to enter the race for Congress -- to stand up for those families here in the Hudson Valley who I have worked with for the last 11 years. The families and communities that are being left behind by the administration in Washington. I am not a politician, and although I embraced this commitment, it came at the expense of doing the work I love. Working for the community. Over the last several weeks, as we have seen working families become pawns in the shutdown battle, it has become obvious to me that I can effectuate more change by returning to the communities I know and love. And to work in the new communities I have had the honor of getting to know over the course of this journey. Therefore, I have made the decision to end my campaign. To those who have supported me, I cannot tell you how much it has meant to me to have you on my side through this journey and I can never thank you enough for your friendship, support, and encouragement. I also want to thank my family who have stood with me every step of the way. And last, but certainly not least, I want to thank my wonderful campaign team who have stuck with me through laughter and tears; you have all meant so much to me and I am grateful to you for your amazing work over these many months. As you all know, I believe that the best candidate will not be one chosen by party insiders, but one who builds genuine grassroots support in all four counties, and I look forward to engaging in this process as a voter and an advocate. Make no mistake, I am not going anywhere. I am invested in this race, and I will do everything I can to ensure that we elect new representation in NY-17. And the first step is making sure that the Democrats choose the strongest candidate to go up against Mike Lawler. To that end, I am proud to announce that I am strongly endorsing Cait Conley in the Democratic Primary for this district. Over the course of this campaign, I have gotten to know Cait and have seen her commitment to our nation and our shared values, and I believe that she is by far the strongest candidate in this race. I look forward to helping Cait win in June and November, and I know she will make an excellent Congressmember.

Oh what a night… Last night was the @914cares annual gala. No words can fully express how honored I am to be a part of this organization… How impactful our work is… How sadly necessary it is for an organizational like ours to exist. While we have heard so much about food and housing needs in the news… What gets little to no attention is the other basic essentials that families need to survive and thrive. It was the honor of my life to introduce Joanne Goldblum, the founder of the @diapernetwork. 7 years ago, 11 innocent Jewish lives were taken while they prayed at Tree of Life Synagogue in Pittsburgh in the deadliest antisemitic attack in our nation’s history. We remember the victims and their families, stand with the survivors, and fight antisemitism in all forms. Donald Trump and his MAGA disciples, Mike Lawler, Kevin Byrne, Matt Slater, and Erin Crowley, can’t run from the hateful racism and antisemitism they’ve fueled for years. NO EXCUSES.
