Tonight at the @DOEChancellor Town Hall in Queens, one of the most mentioned topics of concern was academic rigor. Unlike what local education journalists would have you believe, it was NOT integration, small class sizes, anti-AI, SEL, anti-testing, or other pet projects lefty ideologues and the UFT schills like to harp on. The 2nd most mentioned was family engagement — parents don’t seem to feel heard. Lastly, my favorite comment of the evening was that Queens needs more seats, period. We’re tired of our students having to travel long commutes to get to the “good” schools. Build them here already.
