Happy Child Care Educator Appreciation Month! Last night, we celebrated New York City’s declaration of May as Child Care Educator Appreciation Month at our Child Care and Early Childhood Educator Appreciation Dinner.

Huge congratulations to @nycschools Brooklyn’s Team Hyper Pigmentation from Elementary P.S. 889 @ps889k on their back-to-back @minecraft Battle of the Boroughs challenge wins in the elementary schools competition, presented by @HipHopGamer! @PlayCraftLearn We applaud the 15 finalists teams in the high school, middle school, and elementary school competition and can’t wait to see what these young NYC talents have to offer! If you can code it... you can build it! 🎮 Over the weekend, dozens of our @nycschools students participated at this year's Battle of the Boroughs Mayor's Cup Finals! Students put their coding skills to the test to design a more equitable and sustainable New York City.

Today we broke ground at PS112 in the Bronx on a new soccer pitch—with more coming to schools in Brooklyn, Queens, and Staten Island. This will be a welcoming space where our kids can come after school, lace up their sneakers, and just play.
