Another incredible rescue by the heroes at @airzermatt - am so pleased everyone made it down safely but ‘inadequately equipped with light shoes and light sweaters’ is quite damning… so many lives put at risk….

Asked Mum to bring my ice axe for upcoming #alps trip on her next trip to London. She couldn't find it so brought me choice of two ice axes (each 70 yrs + old) which would fit happily into current #dorothypilley #climbingdays exhib at @thealpineclub . @Dan_Zep might appreciate...

@VertebratePub How long have you got?? Erm, Blencathra in the Lakes…so many approaches to it: Sharp Edge, Hall’s Ridge… climbed it in all the seasons over so many years.

@LindaJCracknell Great to hear about the new edition!! Dad (Colin Taylor) was at Oxford and in the OUMC btw 1957-64 (and was President for some of that time) and stayed connected via OAC after that. Another thought: he joined the AC fairly early so might have coincided with your dad there?
