Free Speech isn’t so you can talk about the weather. It’s so you can say offensive things without the government punishing you.

@BinAnimals Are they incapable of walking into a business and asking for water? Again, I’m. Not a Brit. I’m American. I don’t claim to know your culture. Maybe you guys are a selfish people that won’t allow free water in London?

@Pendracakes The parents that abort their children of life should be held liable. All 50 states have Safe Haven laws. You can drop your infant off at any hospital, any fire station, any police precinct. So having those options available and choosing not to take them makes you responsible.

@Jester_L0rd Okay. But in that case, what do you think should happen to perants that abandon their child? Does that extent to them? Or do we have a different definition of what "depriving someone of life" means?

one of the dumbest rightwing arguments of all time is the idea that something can’t be a right if it requires the labor of others. like right there in the constitution it says you have a right to be tried by a jury of your peers.

I didn’t imply it. I outright said it. If I didn’t outright say it, I am saying it now. Your right to life means that if anyone deprives you of it, they or it should be put to death. Go ahead, put Nature or God or whatever else on trial. Put them to death. If you search my history, I don’t believe in prison. So a lashing or death are your options. But you don’t get to put a person to death because they wanted to be left alone.

@Jester_L0rd You implied that food can't be a right because it requires the labour of others (correct me if I am wrong), but you also say that life is a right even though it requires labour of others. I am just trying to make sense of the discrepancy.

@Pendracakes Tell me how anything I said is flawed. You go on ahead and quote me, and I’ll go ahead and quote myself to counter it.

@Jester_L0rd I think you're making an assumption on my stance here. I just wanted to make sure if your belief is consistent with itself. You're free to think what you want. I just take issue with "x can't be a right because it needs the labor of others." Because that's a flawed argument.

@Pendracakes Go on, look through my post history. Look through my stance on liberalism. Look at my stance on anything that came earlier. Look at my stance on liberalism. You’re still thinking inside liberalism’s box.

@Pendracakes Because no person has the right to deprive you of life. Nature/reality/God/Fate is not a person.

@Pendracakes You can scroll up, but everything I said is a response to the question of food being a universal right. I don’t agree. I agree food is necessary for life, but not that food is a universal right. Go on: ask me what I mean.

@Jester_L0rd Okay. Maybe there is a misunderstanding here. What involuntary labour are we talking about? Because I don't see anyone being forced to anything.

@Pendracakes Exactly. So I ask again: are you conflating voluntary labor of others with involuntary labor of others?

@Jester_L0rd None. Children will need support from their parents or another guardian to survive as is their right.

@Pendracakes Voluntary labor of others is absolutely required for life. How many infants do you know that are ready to put in a solid 8 hours per day?

Pendracakes@Pendracakes·
@Jester_L0rd Okay. So the answer to my initial question if labour of others being required for something doesn't make something a right is a "no" (labour of others can be required for a right). That's really all I wanted to know. Thanks for actually explaining your opinions! I appreciate it

>But what would happen if people stopped voluntary donating their labour? What of people stopped caring for those that need it? Then failures would die. This is not an insult. The universe, God, fate, whatever you want to call it, it rewards survival and success. Not the willingly weak, the stupid, or the unlucky. On a long enough timeline, all of them are failures. You need a baseline of intelligence, work ethic, and luck to be a success. Lack in any one of them long enough, and your success rate drops to zero.

@Jester_L0rd I agree that involuntary labour is slavery. But what would happen if people stopped voluntary donating their labour? What of people stopped caring for those that need it? I am not talking about forcing people or legal requirements, but a moral obligation to fellow humans.

@Pendracakes No, it’s not. Two people voluntarily have sex to make life. A man voluntarily works, and voluntarily donates his labor to take care of those who can’t take can’t take care of themselves. Children, disabled family, charities. Involuntary labor is slavery.

Pendracakes@Pendracakes·
@Jester_L0rd That's an entirely different discussion. Because I don't agree the labour when it comes to life is strictly "voluntary." What would happen if the labour required for life to happen is refused? You think someone should be allowed to deny someone else their right to live?

Stop telling everyone to "just live somewhere cheaper." How? Live in your car? Illegal in many cities. Live in an RV? Often illegal. Pitch a tent? Criminalized. We made housing unaffordable. Then made survival illegal. And call that order.

@socsoyboy Btw, what exactly was it that made you feel I was engaging you as an equal, and not as a lion views a lamb? You are a twink that has a flag of Ukraine and Palestine in your name. You are absolutely not my equal. You identify with losers. So, wanna buy me a meal?
