@thunder_nova @nishaan86265 @Silverchampion8 Yeay, you can't win them all. I'd like to think we can change the minds of others but thats ultimately for them to decide, not us. I do see the self-likes, but I didn't associate it with anything, but your presumption is intriguing to me.

@Silverchampion8 @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus No worries man! You haven't offended me. I have found happiness and peace (Jesus), no problems there! I am just busy and was gonna come back later. I have a feeling though that we might not reach an agreement, which is okay.

@Silverchampion8 @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus Almost all of the disciples were martyred for their beliefs, yet you say Christianity was spread by force and sword? Jesus never murdered anyone. He never forced anyone. Yet we killed Him.

@Jesus_FreesUs @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus When do you think people have the least amount of critical thinking skills? It all plays into what it really is. christianity was spread around the world by sword and force not love or being the truth. Evil is spread by the sword and by force. This is the truth behind the lies.

I'm sorry you had to go through that. Christianity is not a religion, however. It's a relationship. A relationship with someone who loves you so dearly, that He stopped at nothing to provide you a way to eternal life. Who wouldn't want that? To be in the presence of the One who created the Earth, the Stars, and the Sky, just to be with you. He sent His only Son, God in the Flesh, to die for you. For you. He defeated death, so you could live forever. Where we deserve to be on the cross because of our sin, He took our place. God provided a way. He always provides a way. The Earth is tainted with hurt. With sin, and with death. But God didn't want it to be that way. He has given us a way to Him, to Heaven, to Paradise. We no longer have to fear death, or fear Hell, because of God.

@Jesus_FreesUs @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus It is the truth, raising someone to any religion and threating a child's existence with hellfire on actions seen as unholy. I know many christians who told me their parents told them they would go to hell as a child if they did not follow christ. I went through much of the same.

@Silverchampion8 @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus The logic that the 10 Commandments are good commandments? Remember what Jesus said, to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbor as yourself? Does that not simplify everything? Love God and love others? I don't see how this is evil.

@Jesus_FreesUs @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus This is just the logic used by the religious who did do horrid crimes like killing of children ( jews, canaanites, moloch worshipers, some Germanic pagan tribes. ) These religions should all be questioned for their moral failures and vile acts. You did answer, and it rung hollow.

You could, and we would have a long discussion over the context of each. I'm not saying your moral perspective is not real. I'm explaining why God's law isn't just a whim. Calling me brainwashed isn't moving the conversation forward. Can we please maintain decorum? I don't want this to get emotionally charged.

@Jesus_FreesUs @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus I could point out countless things in the bible where god, or his followers under him do evil and unacceptable acts. This is from a REAL moral perspective. Not a brainwashed christians who would look evil in the face and bow to it because anything a god says is unquestionable.

@Silverchampion8 @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus The Israelites never smashed babies. That's not in the Bible anywhere. The passage in Psalm 137:9 is a lament from Jewish exiles because Babylon smashed their babies.

@Jesus_FreesUs @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus You cannot have capital punishment to a baby! Only an evil cultist would think that, usually they brainwash them from childhood to accept things like that. I find it hilarious you all pretend to be against abortion but this is the exception? There is no exceptions. Evil is Evil.

@Jesus_FreesUs @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus I did not claim every single one was bad. I claimed that they mixed some good ones in so they could use it for oppression by justifying the rest as common sense as well based entirely off of stealing already well respected things. Like no stealing or killing.

It's important to understand the context here. These are tough passages in the Bible, and they understandably feel disturbing. Let's look closer. The commands in Deuteronomy 20:16–18 (and Joshua) were specific judgments on Canaanite cities for centuries of extreme evils like child sacrifice, incest, and idolatry. It wasn't hatred or random cruelty. It was capital punishment to prevent those practices from corrupting Israel ("Otherwise they will teach you... and you will sin" Deut. 20:18). And you know what happened when they didn't follow that? Those sins spread, leading to Israel's own downfall. As for smashing babies, God never commanded this. You are referencing a passage in Psalm 137:9. It's part of an imprecatory psalm (a cry for justice against enemies) written by Jewish exiles in Babylon after their own children and people were brutalized. It's expressing a longing for vengeance on Babylon (who actually smashed Israelite infants, per historical records and prophecies like Isaiah 13:16), not an order to do it. It's not God being "evil" arbitrarily. It's sovereign judgment on wickedness, with mercy shown in cases like Rahab.

@Jesus_FreesUs @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus Though my original comment was not about just the ten commandments, it was about the bible and god from it being unjust and evil. When he told the Israelites to spare no one and to kill the women and smash the babies on rocks I find that to be truly vile.

Taking God's name in vain simply means not using it carelessly, flippantly, or in a way that dishonors Him. For example, swearing with it or claiming to represent Him while living hypocritically. As for "no other gods before Me" causing deaths: What exactly caused the conflicts? Obedience to that command, or disobedience (idolatry leading to rebellion and injustice)? If everyone followed it (exclusive loyalty to the one true God), how might history have looked different? Maybe fewer wars over false gods or human-made idols? And those are just two of the ten. You still haven't explained why commands like not lying, not stealing, or honoring parents are "bad". Even non-religious thinkers like Jordan Peterson praise the principles of the Ten Commandments as rock-solid for building meaning, responsibility, and better lives.

@Jesus_FreesUs @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus Well, you shall not take the lords name in vain is so vague no one really knows what it means. It has been punished for various things in history. You shall have no other gods before me has caused major conflicts which resulted in deaths. From your perspective justified sadly?

I'm not trying to prove the text. That's not what this discussion is about. You claimed that the sin in the Bible is arbitrary and the Commandments of God were "pulled out of a hat". Morality did exist before the Ten Commandments, and the Bible addresses that also. Romans 2:14-15: "For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them." I'd like to hear about how God's Law is bad? Would you not agree it is good to not lie? To honor your parents? Not to steal? Those seem like solid rules for any society.

@Jesus_FreesUs @nishaan86265 @darwintojesus Using the text to prove the text is an interesting trait found among all religions. It is meaningless and proves nothing. Morality existed before the ten commandments, and they are pretty bad tbh. A justification for conflict by putting it with common laws to make it seem good.

Ten Commandments? How random is it that the Commandments God had called us to live by improve life more so than any man-made ideas? If the rules consistently lead to better outcomes (stronger families, less chaos, greater human flourishing, etc.), they can't be dismissed as arbitrary or hat-pulled. They counter human tendencies toward selfishness (the root of much evil/sin), leading to harmony when followed. Ultimately, they flow from God's unchanging character of holiness, love, and justice, which matches how He designed humans to function (1 John 4:8).

@nishaan86265 @darwintojesus The evil from sin is completely arbitrary. It is evil because a made up god said so? Yet again, even if god was not made up, the random things that offend him and set you apart from him could have been pulled out of a hat how random they are. In fact they just come from people.
