I strongly disagree with the misleading information being spread by David Lara. Living in a border town just five minutes from San Luis, AZ, I can say with absolute certainty that immigrants are not terrorizing our communities. Our homes, neighbors, and schools are safe. People feel secure letting their children walk home, and San Luis is one of the safest cities in Arizona. Our streets are not plagued by chaos and crime. The exploitation of U.S. citizens, including students, by drug cartels is a symptom of systemic issues: a lack of opportunities, leadership, and resources. This issue is deeply personal to me. Growing up in San Luis, AZ, I have witnessed firsthand the devastating impact on our community. I know over 15 people I went to school with who lost their lives in Mexico due to cartel involvement and over 50 individuals imprisoned for being mules for the cartel. This is why it is crucial to have someone like me, who has overcome the challenges of growing up in a border town, to represent District 23. My values, rooted in family and hard work, drive my unwavering commitment to advocate for my community, helping them achieve success and supporting those who suffer. We must never forget that the United States was built by immigrants. The sacrifices our ancestors made allow us to fight for the American dream today. Denying new immigrants the opportunity to pursue the same dream is not only unjust but also un-American. We need to shift the conversation from the border to comprehensive immigration reform, enabling immigrants without criminal histories to work and thrive in our country. As Franklin D. Roosevelt once said, “Remember, remember always, that all of us, you and I especially, are descended from immigrants and revolutionists.” Our attitude towards immigration reflects our faith in the American ideal. Spreading misinformation about me and my campaign without knowing the facts shows a lack of political knowledge. While I admit that I lost my election, there were multiple factors involved. Claiming that I cost the state another year of Republican control demonstrates a misunderstanding of our district's political dynamics, as the seat was already held by a Republican. Accusing me of running a bad campaign without fully understanding its impact is unfair. I appreciate your canvassing efforts in my previous campaign and hope you did so because you believed I represented your values. I remain the same person, now with even more experience and qualifications. I have strong support from my community and maintain positive interactions with voters. It's disappointing to see young individuals misled by poor leadership and misinformation. To create meaningful change in our district, we must understand and prioritize the needs of the people, not follow so-called leaders blindly. My involvement in politics is driven by a desire to improve and help our community, a commitment I uphold every day in my professional life. I was born, raised, and currently live and work in this district. I am well-known and supported by many because of my consistent efforts to help our community, not just during campaigns but every day. I encourage you to get informed and make your own decisions based on our community's values, rather than being influenced by others for the sake of appearances. I've met you a couple of times before and recognize your potential. Make decisions that align with the true needs of our community, and don't let external influences dictate your actions. It should also be noted that buddy lost a safe Democratic seat in 2022 and cost us the tie in the House because he’s that terrible of a candidate.

I've defended you when you were labeled a homophobe by Stonewall Democrats of Arizona, but I won't defend this because @AnnaHernandezAZ's stances align with those of most progressives. By saying she's "too far to the left", you're saying that about most of us. There's nothing extreme about leading the legislature to repeal the 1864 Abortion Ban, nothing extreme about wanting people to have affordable housing solutions. What's extreme is trying to stop anyone from getting those things done.
