The journey is just as loud as the destination. On my way to Geco Hangout 2.0, I pulled over at Lukenya Hills… took in the horizon, silence and that raw, breathtaking view. Wild. Exclusive. Pure vibes. 🏍️✨

No other tycoon in Africa has the balance-sheet to fund such wide-ranging projects. But whether it is best for the continent to have a single Ambani or Rockefeller, rather than a panoply of competing moguls, is far from clear economist.com/middle-east-an…

For years, two sets of chimpanzees lived as one in Uganda’s Kibale National Park — grooming, interacting and patrolling their territory in a cohesive community. Then suddenly, one set charged the other, touching off yearslong bloodshed. nbcnews.com/science/scienc…

🇺🇬 A group of 200 chimps in Uganda lived together for 20 years, dominated rival groups, expanded their territory, and thrived. Then their social bridges died, a new alpha rose to power, and within three years the group split in two. By 2018, former allies were killing each other. They started with adult males, then moved on to infants. Over 24 dead and counting. Researchers said they were "victims of their own success." A species that shares 98% of our DNA tearing itself apart over power, territory, and resources. If that doesn't sound familiar, you're not paying attention. Source: WSJ

I am happy to announce that @EUinUG is opening a Consulate General on Kalangala Islands to promote Ugandan pineapple exports. Ugandan pineapple is the best in the world - the EU must experience it! A dedicated airport is being built to ensure it arrives fresh in Brussels. 🇪🇺🍍🇺🇬

They said a house full of girls is empty… Today, mine is full of queens. 👑🤍 My husband looked at our four daughters and saw “liabilities.” One day he left, took our savings and disappeared, chasing a life where he believed a son would complete him. I was left with four little girls, including a 6-month-old. No support. No explanation. I cried… but when my child asked, “Mummy, will we eat today?” something in me changed. I did everything honest I could to survive, selling, carrying, washing—just to keep them fed and in school. People talked. I stayed focused. Years passed… Today I stood at the airport watching my daughters chase their dreams abroad on scholarships. And that baby he left behind? She’s becoming a lawyer. As for him… life moved on. But me? I raised four strong, brilliant women—and that’s my pride. To every mother raising daughters: You’re not lacking anything. You’re raising greatness. 🤍

A surgical center in rural Uganda runs entirely off-grid. Solar power. Teak screens, woven Nile reed ceilings, clay tiles made by local potters. This is what African architecture looks like when planned with intention. 📍 Kyabirwa Surgical Center, Uganda Design: George K. George

A reporter asked Cristiano Ronaldo: “Why is your mom still living with you? Why don't you build her a house?” Cristiano Ronaldo replied: "My mother raised me and she would give her life for me, she would go to sleep hungry, just to let me eat, we had no money at all. She worked 7 days out of 7 days and at night as a cleaner to buy my first shoes, so that I could be a player, all my success is dedicated to her and thanks to her and as long as she is alive, she will always be by my side, she has everything I can give. She is my refuge and my greatest gift" ❤️

A joint team of road safety stakeholders yesterday conducted an on-site assessment @karuma Bridge to establish the causes of frequent road traffic crashes along the bridge section. The team examined road conditions, traffic flow, driver behaviour and safety infrastructure in the area. This was to identify key risk factors contributing to the crashes and to develop practical interventions aimed at improving road safety for all road users along the section.
