Don't understand people who claim to walk 20k steps a day. Occasionally, on the weekends, when I tell my wife "let's go on a long walk", and we walk all day, and I look at my phone after hours and hours of walking, I'm at like 16,230 max. Is everyone just a liar?

@olderpugilist lol that’s what i said! I started off when I weighed around 300 carrying a 60 pound rucksack. My wife would say I met my limit when I laid down at night and groaned for 20 minutes 😆

@olderpugilist lol well I know a lot about overdoing it. My wife could tell you some tales. Glad to hear you’re gonna get back at it.

@olderpugilist I understand. I’m fighting as well. But more just against myself and the 500 pound guy that’s still in there. Hang in there man. Our season is right around the corner

@olderpugilist I’m paying less and less attention to my watch. If you’re doing well I think sometimes the watch causes me fitness anxiety lol

@PumpkinPerson2 @SchmittNYC I’ve been about 200 for over a year. Close to a year and a half now. I’m usually 198 or so in the summer. 200 in the winter

@4Happymonday @Jet_Bak @BarryRoland19 I work at my home as a mechanic in my own garage and i can fet to 10k just moving about. I try to add a few short or 1 long walk to stay above 15 on average. Its doable that way. But if you work at home at a desk then it would be tough to get 6 or 7 k

@olderpugilist Ouch. Man those bed naps in Jammies are beautiful but a trap. My future self would be laying awake at night mad at me lol

@Jet_Bak @BarryRoland19 The lack of monotony + the weight vest are great ideas. They feel much healthier than running with dumbbells (something a friend of mine practices)! 😁

@vis_sou @BarryRoland19 Certainly faster walking can help. No question. The 20k steps I do includes running and with a weight vest. But when I was huge just walking was a workout.

@BarryRoland19 @Jet_Bak Regular walks are beneficial, no doubt, but I think people forget that their PACE matters. A rather brisk walk would equal ca 7-8 kms per hour for a guy. 10K steps done like this > 20K steps done at home/workplace. Quality vs quantity.
