This Jewish American Heritage Month, we honor the unique story of Jewish life in the United States, where despite adversity, generations have built community, contributed to every corner of society, and lived out a dream of freedom our ancestors never knew.

Tonight marks the beginning of Yom HaZikaron, Israel’s Memorial Day, when we pause to remember all who have made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of the State of Israel. As the siren sounds and a nation stands in silence, we honor their memory and the lives they lived. 🇮🇱

On Yom HaShoah, we remember the six million Jews murdered in the Holocaust. Not only in memory—but in responsibility. To confront hatred. To protect the vulnerable. To refuse silence. May their memory be a blessing.

#Passover reminds us that freedom isn't just a story we tell, but a responsibility we carry.
As we reflect on the Jewish people's journey from slavery to liberation, may we also recommit to the work of pursuing justice, dignity, and freedom in our own time.

Our hearts are with the Temple Israel community in West Bloomfield. A house of worship should be a sanctuary, never a crime scene. We cannot wish away the threats we face, which is why we need robust state and federal funding to ensure top-notch security for every Jewish space.

We must be disciplined and discerning, seeking clarity without losing compassion. We pray for Israel, the U.S., and the people of Iran.

Following the reports of this morning's joint attack by the U.S. & Israel on Iran, we hold complexity and deep unrest in our hearts. While we do not know how long this conflict will last, we remain wary of misinformation and AI fabrications in an era where trust is hard to find.

Reproductive freedom is a Jewish value. Each year, during the Shabbat of Parshat Mishpatim, we reflect on justice, dignity, and bodily autonomy—values that shape Judaism’s approach to reproductive health, rights, and care. That’s why @NCJW marks this moment with Repro Shabbat.

Our tradition teaches that justice is measured by inclusion, not exclusion. A democracy that works for only some is no democracy at all.
