Better to be besimcha about gashmiyus then to be broken about ruchniyus. Reb Zalman Moshe whom the Rebbe called a Tzadik

Nobody truly succeeds alone. The “self-made” myth is just that, a myth. No one climbs Everest solo. No one builds an empire without a team, support, mentors, and people around them. Acknowledging this doesn’t diminish your wins, it makes you wiser. #Success is a team sport. TN

What if Torah and linguistics aren’t arguing, just speaking differently? Torah: Lashon HaKodesh as the source. Linguistics: how languages spread and changed. One describes the spiritual origin, the other the observable development.

“Pesach tells us how the Israelites won their freedom. Shabbat tells us how they kept it.” Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks May we carry the freedom of Pesach with us throughout the entire year. Shabbat Shalom.

The Alter Rebbe could not afford a Pesach cup and used a kashered one. At the Pesach table, the Maggid announced someone’s cup wasn’t kosher according to the Rema and went around checking each cup. When he reached the Alter Rebbe he said: “R Zalman, we will share my cup.”

The purpose of knowledge is not knowledge, but action. R Or “Lo hamidrash hu ha’ikar ela hama’aseh.” (Pirkei Avos 1:17)

A quintessential @Chabad story shared by @LievSchreiber “For thirty years the Chabad guys showed up at our house and gave us Passover Matzo, which encouraged my grandfather to have a Seder every year, and that is how we shaped our Jewish identity.” @TribecaChabad

Gittin 60b: Was the prohibition on writing the Oral Torah about writing it at all, or only about teaching from written texts? Rambam seems to hold writing personal notes after learning orally was allowed. Others disagreed. Fascinating debate.

@ZviDrizin 😂 preparing for a two hour class on the oral Torah, but remembering I had to clarify this concept for a few students who asked. And I still owe you a phone call.

The mistranslated word is: Almah (עַלְמָה) Meaning: Young woman Not: Virgin Virgin in Hebrew would be: Betulah (בְּתוּלָה) Isaiah 7:14 in Hebrew: הִנֵּה הָעַלְמָה הָרָה וְיֹלֶדֶת בֵּן “Behold, the almah will conceive and bear a son…” #Isaiah
