@tylerisdlearn A5: TylerISD has some of the best teachers in Texas. I’ve seen them come together across campuses willing to support one another with Canvas.#1stteachchat

Grace not grief- for yourself and others. We are in this together and you CAN make a difference even when you don’t realize it. #1stteachchat

A4: Provide multiple ways for kids to show what they know and allow them to come up with how they show you. Write, draw, explain, etc. #1stteachchat

A3: Meaningful feedback is the key! This is your chance to let a child know you value their thinking, a time to ask impactful questions & When done correctly it is a way to spark intrinsically motivated learning (feedback might be important to me) #1stTeachChat

A3: When my kid was in distance learning in the spring in middle school, it made her proud when her teacher gave that feedback and made her take pride ine that work knowing the teachers were truly looking at what she did. It motivated her to stay more engaged. #1stteachchat

A2: Sharing about myself while learning about them! Squeezing in mini 1-on-1 and small group conversations during gaps and adding personal anecdotes along with relating to students’ answers throughout lessons. I love making connections! #1stTeachChat

A2: We meet virtually everyday, so naturally you begin building relationships even through a screen. I feel as close to my students online as I do those face2face. Sending them announcements that encourage and give support during a “weird” time. #1stTeachChat

A2: Sometimes just an old school phone call to assure parents or students they are doing a good job logging on. We got a parent phone call in C&I looking for info and just hearing someone say “it will be fine. Don’t worry” goes a long way! #1stteachchat

I was actually in a meeting with adults across the state and the moderator used fun icebreaker questions throughout where we either responded in chat or held up 2 or 3 fingers to vote on funny questions. It would be fun with kids! #1stteachchat
