My name is Chris and I’m an alcoholic. Today is 51 days sober. Yesterday was a milestone. Today is a choice. Because this isn’t about hitting a number… it’s about becoming someone I never thought I could be. 51 days ago, I was tired of lying to myself. Tired of waking up with regret. Tired of feeling like I was losing my life one drink at a time. Today, I’m still here. Still fighting. Still choosing sobriety even on the hard days. Some days feel strong. Some days feel messy. I still go to parties in fact both my sons drink but I just have coffee or juice . If offered alcohol I just say I don’t drink haven’t for 30 years. In early sobriety best not go to parties ect as I have seen can be not good, so your doing the right thing … continue doing what is working for you… it works

@SSB_Rick One of my friend who was sober 50 years said always have Dark Chocolate for some reason relaxing for Alcoholics. She died last year died Sober and dedicated to sobriety.

The best substitute I found for alcohol wasn’t a drink. It was purpose. Reply with one healthy alternative that helped you replace drinking. Let’s build a list people can use.

74 today they tell me in a reality in which there is no 'time' - only the illusion of it.
