@h1i9r8o1 It looks weird to me. One of my fav anime is Tamon B Side and anytime it switches to the 3D style it’s obvious. But maybe I’m biased since my favorite anime are hand drawn and inked anime. I even have some animation cells from A-ko and other anime.

@sunflowrhalo It’s why I’ve never told my father about mine. My mother blamed herself even though it completely was not her fault there was nothing they could have done but the guilt of not protecting her daughter eats her up. I don’t want to spread that trauma to anyone else in my family

i remember the first time i truly realized my trauma could TRAUMATIZE other people and it was when my sister drunkenly confessed how much she blamed herself for my CSA bc she felt like it was her responsibility to watch me when our parents were always going out and it happened to me on nights that she wouldn’t be babysitting me. and she sobbed, and she apologized to me, and she told me she literally talks to her therapist about it often. and i didn’t even know how to respond in the moment because i had never considered this to be a thing she’d have struggled with.
chuck | MIKE WEEK@stcvcnhyde

i think the biggest misconception abt mike surrounding his trauma is that like not a lot happened to him sure. but he was constantly watching the ppl he loves go through the worst things that could happen and he couldn’t do anything. he just had to watch. that is also traumatic

@neon_heartbeat Did you ever read the Bastard Brigade? One of my favorites. Its about the various people that were trying t keep the atomic bomb out of germanys hands. From small time sabotaging in France, a heist of materials from Norway, a physicist rushing to steal uranium its all great!

I confess I am obsessed with World War Two movies about non front line people who worked their asses off in support areas and never touched a gun but were so vital regardless that without them Hitler would have never blown his brains out
Met Office@metoffice

The first trailer for ‘Pressure’ is here, the film which tells the story of the most important weather forecast; the D-Day forecast. Andrew Scott stars as Group Captain James Stagg – the Met Office meteorologist tasked with delivering the weather forecast and helping shape D-Day's plans. In cinemas 9 September. #pressuremovie @StudiocanalUK

So yeah I’ll agree it’s not just screens but I think it’s important to recognize how kids relationship with screens is distinctly different from those of us who grew up in the early tech boom.

It’s not just the screens. I also think school has changed and in some ways over compensate as for how it was cruel in the past. In an effort to move away from over discipline for example we’ve moved to essentially no discipline

Grew up in similar times and currently teach. I’d argue it’s the saturation of screen time. For example I had to get special permission to bring a laptop to school when I was in HS. Now kids are issued one by the school on their first day.
em🌼MPH@capybartini

I had access to screens my entire life (video games, computers, TV, iPod touch, later smart phones) & graduated high school in 2015. I did all those things. I even went to grad school bc I like school. Teachers didn’t complain about us the way they do about kids now.

I went down an i-Ready rabbit hole a couple weeks ago. This is a edtech platform used by ~ 1/3 of K-8 students in the country. Students are spending a massive amount of instructional time using their product. Yet, there are NO RCTs (experimental studies) and few external evaluations that demonstrate that their adaptive learning platform works 😶‍🌫️🙃 What evidence does exist? It doesn't get better..
Kelsey Piper@KelseyTuoc

A very well-written, very justifiably angry parental reflection on edtech:
