@Hutchhobo @traviskriens The problem as I see it is in class A if you go to the 32 it will be a dak 12 conference tournament. People are already complaining the interest is dropping and that will turn it into AA where no one cares. I guess you just have to decide what kind of tournament you want.

The top 6 in Class B Boys from 2 different Regions. Regions 5, 6, 7, and 8 are awful. If its the best teams you want advancing its time to move from 16 to 32 teams. @traviskriens

@natesportsguy Sturgis is bigger than Pierre and 4 males less than Yankton. Now Aberdeen is considerably larger than the others. I wouldn’t argue that they could be moved up. But Douglas will be bigger than all of them in the near future.

But....what about the poor smaller schools that Aberdeen Central, Pierre, and Watertown all beat up on? Do we not care about them?

@natesportsguy But that doesn’t explain why that should happen. Every game someone wins, someone also loses. If it has to be done for schools like RC to be competitive then what about the schools smaller than them that they’ll be beating. We must not care about those programs.

@JimAkre There are a lot more schools than just Rapid schools that could benefit from a roster size average factored in, I see numerous schools struggling across classes, including 9-Man. Not too many "smaller schools" will be taking the losses, believe me.

FYI: Montana has a classification system that weights 35% for roster size and 30% for boys enrollment. Why wouldn't this work in South Dakota? Enrollment as the only tool for classification is not working at all for competitive games and program building in SD. #sdpreps

@natesportsguy Simple solution: Leave the SDHSAA and form the black hills football class like the all nations did. Games will be competitive, it will cut down travel, and we won't have to listen to the whining.

Is everybody still fine with the Douglas High School Football team staring down another season where they will struggle to compete in nearly every 11AA game? Why do we not consider an option for programs like Douglas to play 11A and build up numbers and culture. #sdpreps
