Tonight on #WorldHomelessDay people are coming together for #OneBIGSleepOut at Stormont. Across NI 1 in 31 are currently facing homelessness. While this event doesn’t replicate homelessness it does send a powerful message - that no one should face it alone.

Yesterday we demonstrated that becoming homelessness is a journey, one that starts for many people in childhood. Ending homelessness isn't just about the provision of houses - it's also about seeing the signs of people already on that awful journey to prevent it ever happening

Homelessness doesn’t begin with losing a home. For many, it begins in childhood. 66% of people in hostels faced multiple traumas, 1 in 4 were homeless before 18, and 74% live with mental illness. Read more about Simon Community newest report here: simoncommunity.org/about/news/chi…
