I am humbled and honored to share that your write-or-die girl is a finalist for two awards for the annual (NABJ) @NABJ National Association of Black Journalists awards competition! The awards will be announced in August at our convention in Cleveland. This one is for little Brown girls! My nominations are for a series of stories about Saleema Hicks Robinson’s civil lawsuit accusing former @CamdenSchoolsNJ Board President Wasim Muhammad of molesting her when she was a child. The other story was about high school senior Sania Anderson who was banned from school for more than a year after jumping into a fight with a group of other girls. Her story lead to an analysis that found that black students are disproportionately disciplined for committing the same offenses as their white peers. I’m very proud of this work and that I was trusted to tell these stories. I had exclusive interviews for both! God has blessed me! #blackjournalistsmatter #NABJ #writeordie
