NHS Worker Assaulted and Racially Abused in Halifax Park Apple, a dedicated NHS worker from the Philippines with 15 years of service, was racially abused and assaulted while walking with her family in Manor Heath Park, Halifax, on 28 August. In a social media post, she shared her pain, stating, “After what happened, it only validated my decision [to leave]. I love what I do, but some people aren’t worth my time or my care.” She added, “Justice must be served.” West Yorkshire Police reported that a white man and woman, both in their 60s, targeted Apple’s family with racist abuse. A bystander who intervened and Apple’s mother were also assaulted, with no serious injuries reported. The police are actively sorting the identity of the perpetrators. apple.co/3Yt1O8R

When you have 1.7 million followers and a platform, it is irresponsible to tweet about "illegal routes" -- no route to asylum is "illegal" -- the route can either be "safe" or "unsafe", but everyone has the right to claim asylum. It is a right any one of us may need one day.

This is where the country goes to the dogs. Rylan is allowed to say plainly untrue statements on a national news show with literally no pushback. Asylum seekers housed in hotels are NOT given phones or ipads. They are not living a life of luxury.
