@afmcdnl @Mme_Roome @KidsCoding Thanks for your interest, @afmcdnl. Check out, learningmusic.ableton.com. It's an amazing introduction to the workflow of Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). I was pleased to learn that the developers at Ableton were inspired by Papert and Resnick to create this education tool.

I had the opportunity host a meetup for @NLESDCA teachers on the theme of coding and music. We used @microbit_edu, @Ableton, and @scratch to compose and perform with contemporary electronic music aesthetics. Thanks to @MrGoldsworthy12 and @mmelee5 for the support. @KidsCoding

@astro_pi at @ManuelsRiver @codeclubcanada was a blast! Using Python and learning about RGB color codes was extremely engaging for our group. This was everyone's introduction to text based coding and ages 8-12 had no problem picking it up! @KidsCoding

A 7th grade student took inspiration from band class and used their music for Semptemer, by Earth Wind & Fire, during a micro:bit workshop @stpaulsjh. The accurate rhythms required a bit of math. I love when students draw form multiple subjects to create their projects @NLESDCA

@KidsCoding micro:bit workshops often turn into a jam session. Once students find the music in @MSMakeCode, I share this @Ableton website which allows students input notes much like LEDs on micro:bits. Forever loops, remixes, collaboration and lots of dancing @VElementary

This wonderful classroom at @VElementary incorporates music into all of their activities. They use songs to learn French and today we made connections between music code. Remixing education in the @NLESDCA. @KidsCoding @microbit_edu

@learysbrook has creative students and inspiring teachers. English and French grade 6s were a treat to work, especially in the last week before the break. Christmas Sweaters, year-end concerts, and coding workshops made for a fun learning environment.
