St. Louis was once among the strongest manufacturing centers in the U.S., producing cars, clothing and household goods for the nation. But as American manufacturing shifted overseas, St. Louis lost much of the industry that made it great. Now, some of t... firstalert4.com/2026/05/01/fir…

Our Savior Jesus Christ taught us how to relate to one another. The great commandments in the law, He taught, were to love—God and neighbor. (Matthew 22:37-39)

@stlpolitics Would a school that adopted a policy addressing antisemitism but not similar behavior regarding other religions be violating the Missouri or US constitution?

@AGCHanaway Endorsing federal involvement in Missouri elections? That’s quite the departure from Mo SoS Jay Ashcroft who pulled Missouri out of even a joint state effort to promote voter registration integrity.

Missouri will not allow partisan gamesmanship to diminish, dilute, or harm the integrity of our elections. We are leading a coalition of 12 states in a motion to intervene to defend @POTUS’s common sense executive order from legal attacks by progressive states and activists.

“‘It is incumbent on us to make the tough decisions that every single family has to make every single day,’ Brattin said.” I don’t know of a single family that is looking for a way to decrease its income.
Jason Hancock@J_Hancock

The first-year cost of a House-passed proposal to eliminate the Missouri income tax ballooned to $4.2 billion under revisions made in the state Senate that were called “drafting errors” Monday during a committee debate. #moleg #mogov missouriindependent.com/2026/04/13/mis…

@JudgeDillard @AppellateDaily @DietCoke_Esq My approach (when I have or make the time) is to read the brief backwards—that is, reading paragraph by paragraph from the end to the beginning. Better yet, read it sentence by sentence starting with the last sentence in the conclusion.

Nah. It happens to even the best lawyers (and judges). I will offer you a tip that has helped me catch many a typo over the years. Once you’re ready to file your brief, save it under another name, change and increase the font, and then re-read it one more time (preferably in a different environment than normal). It’s like reading an entirely different document.

TRUMP SAID YESTERDAY THAT (quote follows): “THE RUSSIAN CONSTITUTION IS MUCH BETTER THAN THE AMERICAN ONE. Putin told me he never has any problems with his constitution.” — THAT’S A QUOTE, DAMN IT! “Russia has much better constitution writers than we do,” he said. “I talked to Putin, and he said their constitution never gives him problems.”

For one of my college geography classes I measured temperatures, looking for a heat island. Maybe I should repeat the exercise. This looks far more dramatic than the few degrees difference I found in my hometown.
CNN@CNN

The vast data centers that power artificial intelligence guzzle huge amounts of energy but they also have another alarming impact, according to new research. They are creating “heat islands,” warming the land around them by up to 16 degrees Fahrenheit, and making life hotter for more than 340 million people. cnn.it/4rZSiG5

@AGCHanaway If upheld, this blows a big hole in Missourians’ constitutional right to referendum.

Today’s ruling by Judge Stumpe regarding the Missouri FIRST Map is a GREAT win for Missourians. Although certification has yet to be determined, the court rightly recognized that the Missouri FIRST Map splits fewer counties and municipalities, and is thus more compact than the prior congressional map. We remain steadfast in our commitment to protect the constitutional, lawfully enacted Missouri FIRST Map.
