I saw this headline from @OPB: "With gas prices rising, Oregon drivers are paying some of the highest prices in the country." ...and thought "oh wow - they're going to explain why fuel is more expensive in Oregon and on the west coast..." NOPE - not one mention of the extra $.23/gallon Oregon is paying in a hidden gas tax through LCFS and other "clean fuels" schemes (also this is verified by Oregon DEQ). Really no explanation at all. Why even write the story... The closest they got was "environmental policies that deter increased gasoline production in the region." Ummm... kinda sorta? Here's some help. Article in comments.
