Abolish ICE.
What we’ve seen recently isn’t immigration enforcement; it’s state-sponsored terrorism.
They refuse to comply with the Constitution.
They assault Americans with impunity.
They hide behind masks, knowing their actions are shameful.
They should not exist.
Immigration enforcement can be done lawfully and accountably—upholding the rights of the people—but the administration has no interest in that.
They’re using the context of immigration as a pretext to sidestep constitutional limits—warrants, due process, and transparency—that protect us all from government abuses.
We need immigration enforcement that respects the Constitution, not an agency that evades it.

I watched Fahrenheit 451 last night. It struck me that the anti-book arguments expressed by the Firemen are quite similar to the arguments of those today in a panic about teens and their phones and social media. "The people that read them—it makes them unhappy with their own lives—makes them want to live in other ways that can never really be."

In the current issue, Rachel Syme kicks off her "On and Off the Avenue" piece with "Every year, around early November, daylight-saving time kicks in..." Rachel, honey, no, no, no, no. This dark sliver of time from from November to March is Eastern Standard Time. The whole rest of the year is daylight-saving time. It's nuts, I know. Everbody is getting it wrong now; the @washingtonpost too, recently. Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold.
