We weren’t able to celebrate @ellymaybarnes’ birthday earlier this month as she was unwell. She’s doing well now so we got together with many who love her for belated cheers. The present of the day was her smiling face.

What a great show last night in Bundaberg. Huge thanks to Mick and Zeke for filling in on drums and bass, and Juanita for joining me on your birthday to sing Good Times. And thank you to the audience for signing along beautifully.

Today is World Bee Day so I thought we’d update you on our yellow honey mystery. This is still not a certainty but local expert opinions believe our honey maybe be English Ivy foraged. We didn’t harvest last year as we left the honey for the hives… we felt there wasn’t enough to take. Mixed with last season’s canola honey can explain the yellow and creamy texture. It has a slight ‘medicinal’ note … and get this … health benefits include support for upper respiratory conditions. Sounds like they’ve made it especially for singers.

At the Split Enz show in Sydney tonight. Hard to believe it’s been 45 years since both Split Enz and Cold Chisel played the Sweetwaters Festival in New Zealand back in January 1981.

Nico came to visit. He’s named after a member of the’Velvet Underground’. A rock dog who likes to smile.

40 kgs of Barnes Bees honey. The colour and creaminess is out of this world. We are going to have it analysed because no one here can explain where they’ve been foraging. Can anyone out there help? We’re grinning from ear to ear

We actually live in a tree house. Everywhere I look… tree tops all around. I need a vine to swing down to the river, and it’ll really be Tarzan and Jane.

After another big weekend sometimes breakfast for dinner is just perfect. This time it’s not cereal but Thai fish and rice soup, Khao Tom pla.

Today we think of our mothers. Both Jane’s mum and mine have been gone for many years now, but they still hold us in their hearts. A mother’s job is the most important gig in life. Only a mother can give the kind of love that brings a special joy to a child’s heart. Hope you’ve all had a wonderful day.
