The festival was curated by Animal Collective and "It's Only Right And Natural" was performed in full, but only a few songs were filmed. About a year ago almost 2 the day, a Facebook friend of mine Stella Eikens reached out 4 help with a question on her high school project, an essay on The Frogs. This was her question. ❤️Jimmy What gave u guys the idea 2 write the songs that u did, specifically the more “offensive” ones? Where did the inspiration come from? Every1 has their own idea unique 2 themselves floating about in their heads of what they deem offensive. People judge a song 2 b offensive by the lyrical content yet they overlook a novice’s approach in the field of songwriting where music it’s twin, plays a role & a refined master could just as easily find a chord structure, progression, rhythm & melody subpar & judge it offensive. The word offense suggests that someone has a goal in mind or a point 2 make, get across & even a provocateur. That was not something we subscribe or subscribed 2. After awhile of working at the craft of songwriting, year after year, the need 2 push 1self 2 improve, 2 find 1self in song, 2 discover & uncover who u r & what u r all about, purpose & path through one’s own perceived definition of success or failure plays & played a starring role in my, our path. Inspiration comes from all sources, love, heartache, lack of understanding, wisdom, a desire 2 grow, question, wonder, dream, experience, seeing unusual people & things & each song has it’s own story. 4 instance, my brother Dennis read so many books on every subject, at 1 point reading so many books on serial killers that he said he had 2 stop because it was 2 much 4 his head & it had a way of coming out in song & the questionable thoughts & outlandish actions the book’s central characters partook. From the beginning & in the end, we were always 2 normal brothers from a family neighborhood in Milwaukee, Wisconsin who speak & spoke the truth from our hearts of what we saw, feel, felt, who we were, r, shared an unusual way of stringing words 2gether always believing the sky’s the limit, all things r possible with respect 2 spreading a positive message of love onward.

Got an advanced copy of "Alternative For The Masses" (The 90's Alt-Rock Revolution, An Oral History by Greg Prato out 10/28/2025. Well written & researched account emanating from the mouths of those interviewed by Greg who participated in the Alternative Rock scene. If u weren't quite born yet this book thus gives detailed insight into this musical happening landscape. Many thanx 2 Greg 4 including me in his historical work. ❤️Jimmy
