NEET is not just an exam, it is the future of lakhs of students. After months of hard work by over 2.2 million aspirants, repeated paper leaks, delays, cancellations, and irregularities have severely damaged trust in the system. Students deserve a fair, transparent, and reliable examination process. Fixing this system should be an immediate priority. Harshest action needed here.

The statement was not needed to begin with. In case you don't know. A government is responsible to build:- 1) Enough strategic reserves of energy 2) Enough forex reserves 3) Enough confidence for investors to invest 4) Stable currency by revamping sectors like Tourism and Export 5) Let media run independently so that people's trust stays intact. At this point, people should stop consuming mainstream media, especially yours' The media is not free, it is basically a messenger. Hence, it will spread stupidity to control the narrative. And, eventually support petrol/diesel price hike.

Some people are criticising PM Modi's message from yesterday. Well, simple math will tell you that the country is dealing with a fuel-cost issue. The bills aren't favourable, for the country. So what does the PM do - tell people to do things which can help reduce those bills - travel local, use public transport when and where feasible, buy local things, etc . What is wrong in that? This is an appeal, not a gun to your head. Do it if you think you can, and if you can take some hit (to finances and to preferences) for a short while. It will help the country, and in turn help you.

I don't know whether you remember. I was one among the first to repeatedly raise to government existence of both STT and long term capital gains are terribly unfair for investors. This goes against the commitment given in the parliament that STT was introduced only in lieu of capital gains tax. More than domestic investors, this hurts FIIs more. Adding salt to the injury, long term capital gains were further increased in 2024. I would have posted dozens of tweets in this regard tagging both Prime Minister and Finance Minister. As always, BJP IT cell started personally attacking me that I don't want to pay taxes. How many ever times I explained the logic, that many times or more I was personally ridiculed. For many reasons including our government apathy, FIIs are only net sellers for last many years. In parliament, we ridiculed FIIs stating that retail investors are good enough for us and FIIs are exiting a great market called India. I pointed out how even countries like Singapore and other developed nations give importance to FII money. BJP trolls said FIIs are losing opportunity to make money out of the greatest market in the world. Even if we are greatest, this arrogance is unwarranted. Arrogance would ensure we don't remain great. Now we are trying to see how to conserve forex by avoiding destination weddings, foreign vacations and so on. The elephant in the room is billions of dollars flowing out of the country every month due to FII selling. Instead of trying to address that major issue, we are focusing on overseas trips by a small percentage of Indians. Misplaced priorities. Our finance minister still do not the feel the need to call FIIs for an open meeting and address their tax issues and other concerns. We are absolutely tone deaf.

A builder in my city has developed a gated residential society exclusively for the elderly population: 2 BHK homes, a central mess, recreation areas, walking gardens, full-time nursing support, dedicated ambulances, hospital tie-ups, and an in-house team to assist with bills, travel, legal, banking, online orders, etc. It has a four-year waiting list!! Unlike traditional old-age homes, this is independent community living where senior citizens own private homes while having medical and lifestyle support available whenever needed. It has become immensely popular among families whose children live outside the city or abroad and are unable to stay with their parents full-time. I think this concept is going to expand rapidly across urban India in the coming years.

Aayein? 140 crore+ hain hum. 140 crore se system clean nahi ho raha aapko lagta hai kuch laakh bahar se aakar kar denge? System clean jaisi baatein looks good in films and casual discussion. Koi banao ek party system clean ke naam par and fight elections. Saari ki saari seeto par zamanat zabt hogi. Jaha 70-80% aadmi quota, religion, mahapurush ka sammaan, freebies, par vote karta hai waha system clean jaisi baatein has-yas-pad lagti hain.

No need to come back. Indians must understand the difference between Bharat, the oldest unbroken dharmic civilization since the Bronze Age, and India, a modern nation-state governed by a democratic system since 1947. Your love and gratitude for Bharat should not be weaponized as a guilt trip to pull you back to India, where merit is devalued, corruption is normalized, adulteration is rampant, civic sense is poor, pollution is pervasive, babushahi stifles efficiency, appeasement and freebies shape policy, and mobs dictate terms to democratically elected governments. Bharat stays with you. Wherever you go, the civilization goes with you. If you want to preserve and carry forward that civilization, practice dharmic righteousness wherever you are and uphold its values through your conduct, work, and integrity. You don't have to be in India for it.
Sridhar Vembu@svembu

Open letter to Indians in America. -- Dear brothers and sisters from Bharat: Like I did 37 years ago, you arrived in America with no money but with a good education and cultural heritage from Bharat. You achieved outstanding success. America was good to us. For that we must remain grateful - gratitude is our Bharatiya way. Yet today, a significant number of Americans, may be not the majority but not too far from it either, believe that Indians "take away" American jobs and our success in America was unfairly earned. You may think the next election will fix this, but your choice would be between people who hate our Bharatiya civilisation and people who hate civilisation itself. That is the "hard right" vs "woke left" battle. You are mere bystanders to that conflict. Meanwhile there is one thing that is true now and will be true in the future: the respect Indians command world-wide will substantially depend on the fortunes of India herself. If India remains poor, the woke left will give us moral lectures with pity and the hard right, different moral lectures with scorn ("hellhole") and we must not confuse either with respect. Respect in today's world, along with prosperity and security, comes from one source: a nation's technological prowess. India produces sufficient brain power to achieve that prowess but alas we exported so much of that talent, particularly to America. As we develop that prowess in India, our civilisational strength will assert itself. As difficult as it is for many of you to contemplate this, please come back home. Bharat Mata needs your talent. Our vast youthful population needs the technology leadership you gained over the years to guide them towards prosperity. Let's do it with a missionary zeal. Respectfully Sridhar Vembu

After my post crossed 200k, hundreds of you shared your real numbers. Here’s what’s actually breaking Bangalore tech families in 2026. Monthly Take-home: ₹2.85 Lakh (₹52 LPA) Expenses: • Home Loan EMI (3BHK Whitefield) → ₹1.08 Lakh • One Kid’s School Fees → ₹35,000 • Groceries + Milk → ₹28,000 • Society Maintenance → ₹18,000 • Maid + Cook + Nanny → ₹18,000 • Car EMI + Fuel → ₹15,000 • Electricity + Water + WiFi → ₹12,000 • Family Health Insurance → ₹45,000 • Total → ₹2.93 Lakh → Short by ₹8,000 every single month before any festivals, outings, or emergencies. The replies were eye-opening. One guy wrote: “We earn well on paper… but feel stuck in real life.” A decade ago the same lifestyle needed just ₹18–22 lakh salary. Now even double that barely keeps you afloat. This is the silent struggle no one talks about openly. Tell me honestly what’s the one expense that hurts you the most every month? Reply in this format: City - Expense - Amount (Example: Bangalore - School fees - ₹38k) Tag that friend who’s earning good but still living paycheck-to-paycheck

When Japan’s toll system crashed for 38 hours, they had let cars pass for free…….. but asked people to pay later online once they reach home. 24,000+ drivers actually went home and paid online voluntarily. Now imagine this in India…… how many do you think would honestly pay?
