FIRST ON B: A company linked to top public works officials, a Pampanga mayor, and their daughters was allegedly set up not to run a legitimate business, but to move funds tied to flood control projects.
That is one of the core allegations raised by the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC), which tagged MBB Global Properties Corp., the developer and owner of the ₱1 billion Wyndham Clark hotel, as a conduit for funds linked to Globalcrete Builders, a major flood-control contractor owned by Candaba, Pampanga Mayor Rene Maglanque.
“Based on the nature of reported transactions of MBB, it is apparent that it was incorporated only for the purpose of receiving funds from Globalcrete and disbursing the same,” the AMLC said.

The issue was never about malice, Cong. Suntay. It was about how you viewed Anne Curtis as a sex object. Of course most men in our patriarchal, macho culture think this way, which is why misogyny and sexual violence against women is so pervasive. But for a congressman to publicly express such a mindset in a formal congressional hearing is just distasteful and disgusting. So stop justifying yourself by saying you meant no malice. Your statement was wrong, period. Say sorry to everyone, not just to those who were “hurt” or “affected.” Say sorry and mean it.
