@Joshmenawe @JmPascol @Kenyans UG already has a refinery and it will expand. The pipeline is to export that oil and whatever remaining crude. Let’s gather facts first. Dangote prefers importing crude. And he will do. We dont need their pipeline and oil if they become stubborn

We initially thought Tanga was the best option for the oil refinery, but we will not dictate the location to Aliko Dangote - Ruto

If they don't support it then it won't be built. The refinery will have to use the oil that will be in Tanga. TZ (&UG) holds the card.

Kenya should take up Dangote’s offer ASAP. That will mean we can supply refined oil to all EAC and SADC bloc

@Paynne_ke @nsikenyi @InfiniteMansa @amenya_nelson Having a refinery doesn't make the oil prices low. To run such a huge refinery is expensive and you need cheap energy like LNG which Kenya doesn't have (Tanzania does)

@nsikenyi @InfiniteMansa @amenya_nelson The oil market determine the prices of crude oil not refined. Currently we are paying for the brent crude oil prices+ refinery premiums. If the refinery is operationalized and it's efficient it will lower the refinery premiums and transporting cost .
