He experienced trauma but he was still competent enough to go to the store manager and Ian for help and the movie doesn’t present a reason as to why he had to stop there and then rush to kill himself though. I didn’t say that him asking people for help is automatically good writing. That would depend on the execution of Joe that’s done. What doesn’t make sense is why he just simply stopped after going to Ian. It comes across as if the film is rushing to that specific conclusion instead of more organically getting there.
