@heathcummingssr It's everywhere. Servers and managers utterly ignorant of major sports events or not automatically putting big games on. If your whole label is "sports" whatever, it should be important that the TV's are automatically on the most popular sports events of the day, every day.

Went to a sports bar today to watch the tournament. We'd been there before, good food, good beer. Walked in and they had zero tournament games on. "Working on it." After one beer they still had zero games on. Mostly baseball and football re-runs on the TVs...a few TVs with a tournament app on, but "free trial expired.". Obviously, we left. I still don't actually understand any of it. How do you own a "sports bar" and not plan on having all the games on all day on one of the most important sports days of the year?

@covie_93 It was all branding. While the media argued over memes and "wasteful" grants, the administration used the 18-month sunset to gut civil service protections and automate deregulation. It wasn't a "Manhattan Project" for saving money; it was a "MP" for Trump's executive authority.

@covie_93 Everyone thought DOGE was about balancing the checkbook. It wasn't. It was about moving the "Delete" key from the bureaucracy to the Oval Office. 271,000 workers gone in 10 months isn't "accounting"—it’s a hostile takeover of the administrative state.

@driscoll1142 @covie_93 I love how it's impossible for MAGA to address literally anything without referencing Biden or Obama. Comical.

@covie_93 Lol. All of that national debt that is going up is still on Joe Biden. Donald Trump hasn't raised the national debt yet.

@ArtLippo2 It's gonna be touch and go until the end. Canucks have a stranglehold on the last place but other than that I don't remember a lottery so entirely up in the air. Blues could end legitimately anywhere from 2nd (13.6% odds) to 12th (0%) and out of it entirely. Crazy

Fortunately for the Blues. Everyone surrounding them decided to pull their heads out and win games.

@WilliamMac67 And it kept going all. year. long. Even in the CFP the talking heads kept right on picking Alabama, Oregon and Miami. Gotta love it.

@ChrisLongKSTP I'm perfectly fine with "undefeated regular season" being a per se auto-bid into the tournament. Absolutely fine with that precedent.

Seriously. They let 68 teams into this thing. If you go *undefeated* in a regular season - even against mid-major or lesser competition - and you're still on the bubble? What are we doing? Wouldn't we rather see 31-0 Miami get a go than a 7th place ACC or 10th place SEC team?
Front Office Sports@FOS

Miami (Ohio) went a historic 31-0 in the regular season and was still a bubble team for March Madness. After leading the RedHawks to their first NCAA tournament game this century, head coach Travis Steele said: “We more than belong.”

spot-on, from @anneapplebaum Money quote: "Donald Trump does not think strategically. Nor does he think historically, geographically, or even rationally. He does not connect actions he takes on one day to events that occur weeks later. He does not think about how his behavior in one place will change the behavior of other people in other places." "He does not consider the wider implications of his decisions. He does not take responsibility when these decisions go wrong. Instead, he acts on whim and impulse, and when he changes his mind—when he feels new whims and new impulses—he simply lies about whatever he said or did before." theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/03/…

@barrylongii Depends what your definition of “greatest” is. Accomplishments with aura and dominance of era he played in? 100% Most talented to ever play or “best” player ever? Connor McDavid

One thing that every American needs to understand is that our allies haven't abandoned us because they don't want to help us. They've abandoned us because of the way Trump has treated them. He is not good for America.

President Donald J. Trump just signed an Executive Order creating the Task Force to ELIMINATE Fraud. Chaired by @VP Vance, this task force will crack down on fraud, close loopholes, and make sure benefits go ONLY to eligible Americans. Promises Made. Promises Kept. 🇺🇸

@america Math check: The 2024 deficit is ~$1.8 trillion. Even the most extreme (and disputed) estimates of costs re: undocumented immigrants is around $150B. Deport all & ur still missing $1.65 trillion. The debt is driven by healthcare, social security, and defense—not this.

Stephen Miller on fraud by illegal aliens: “If all of it were stopped, it would be enough to balance the budget. The extraction of wealth from American taxpayers by those who don't belong here is the primary cause of the national debt.”

@BFW Not the NHL/MLB but Ft. Wayne Indiana loves their Ft. Wayne Komets. Great facility and attendance for the ECHL. The Ft. Wayne Tincaps (MLB) maybe close. It's a 1A/1B situation. The Ft. Wayne Mad Ants (NBA affiliate) had such bad attendance they moved 🤣 Hockey isn't always last!

I need examples of a US city with at least three pro sports teams where the NHL team is top two in fandom in the city. Boys here said Detroit, DC and Tampa. I think I’ll give them DC and Tampa, but contest Detroit. Some guys said Minnesota, I think Twins are bigger than Wild.

@MattWalshBlog Passage requires 60 votes, & we have 53. Unless you want to nuke the filibuster & hand Chuck Schumer the keys to pack the Supreme Court the next time Dems have a 51-vote majority, you play the hand you’re dealt. Thune is protecting the institution while fighting for the policy.

@DavidWohl @PressSec 3/3 Don't forget German Reunification (1990). Bush Sr. ignored his own allies' fears to push for a united Germany as the USSR crumbled. It fundamentally reordered Europe without firing a shot. Bravery isn't just about the strikes; it's about the shifts.

@DavidWohl @PressSec 2/3 Then there’s the 2011 Bin Laden Raid. Obama sent SEALs into Pakistan—a nuclear-armed ally—without permission. If those helis had stayed down (as they did in 1980), it would’ve been a historic diplomatic disaster. Pure, high-stakes tactical "bravery."
