Baffled by responses to this saying things like "signs of hope!"
This data is completely consistent with everything we’ve seen since Omicron emerged.
There’s never been evidence either for "we’re doomed!" or "it’s super mild!", and you shouldn’t trust anyone claiming as much.

Quick situation update from Gauteng, showing all key metrics including excess deaths. Cases and test positivity peaking, admissions slowing. Deaths still climbing at same pace as past waves, but based on slowdown in cases we can be sure deaths will not get close to Delta peak.

Guess this election also settles how any 2nd referendum would have played out, so we've saved ourselves that torture at least. There are going to be a *lot* of disappointed folk when they realise what 'Get Brexit Done' actually means*. (*Spoiler, it doesn't mean Brexit gets done)

So both Lib Dem and lab think they can win and, as elsewhere in the country, appear to be trying to influence mainly by insulting each other
