A sweet surprise at Memphis Zoo today! Ru is officially on the move. New mom Jahe and her two-month-old baby, Ruhana “Ru,” were spotted exploring their outdoor habitat together, marking a big milestone for Ru. As Jahe grows more confident, guests may occasionally see the pair outside during their visit. That said, everything is on mom’s terms. Time in the yard depends entirely on Jahe’s comfort level, so there are no scheduled viewing times, and visibility can change day to day. The weather also plays a role as she continues to adjust. Our animal care team is closely monitoring both mom and baby to make sure this transition is smooth, safe, and stress-free. Sightings aren’t guaranteed, but if you happen to catch a glimpse of little Ru during your visit, it’s truly a special moment to treasure. #memphiszoo

Accused mayoral stalker Trenton Abston appeared on court Friday morning, where he told the judge he does not have a lawyer. His sister is also here and spoke to the judge. He remains jailed on $50,000 bond although a bond hearing is set for Monday.
