Sport coaches:
When 90% of your HS team plays 1-2 other sports, it’s borderline negligent to NOT schedule at least one day a week in the weight room if you have the means to do so.
#1- It will help directly help your own team. Why wouldn’t you want that?
#2- It will also help each individual athlete stay more healthy and set them up for more success in their other sports too.

@JoeAratari Had a kid for 4 years
Wanted to train with his friend ONE TIME/ONE day one college winter before going back to school
Dude posted a pic with him and said “great to see all the work these years pay off.” LOL

This girl I have been training for 5+ years had to do team training with her club team at another facility TWO TIMES as a demo session.
She’s a fantastic athlete and college commit.
Guess who was all over their IG stories both sessions?
Some adults have no shame.

A performance coach after the athlete they trained one time for two weeks gets a college offer or makes it professionally

This is impressive.
Side note.
If a kid really is the #1 fourth grader in the world (objectively cannot even measure that)
Don’t tell them they are the #1 fourth grader in the world.

I work with this girl remotely, and for the last two seasons, she has been named her city’s player of the year in a competitive conference.
Based on her soccer schedule, she only has two days a week to train with me, but she’s very consistent with those two days.
Her dad recently emailed me saying her HS soccer coach is not happy with her bench (125x2 as a junior) and wants her to do a benching specific program they found online (lol).
This is a simple reminder that while strength is a goal in sports performance, it’s not the only goal.
If I was a high level soccer player…
I’d take being more athletic in soccer > benching heavy any day of the week.
Sure, if all my athletes ever needed was strength and had four days a week to just do strength training, our athletes would be really strong. (Duh)
But that’s not the case, nor the needs of the sports.
Keep the goal, the goal.

Beyond proud of these two on their long term investments on and off the court/field.
Hours in the weight room over years (4 for reegan and 6 for Jordan!) with the whole point to aid them in their sport. Happy to see when it pays off.
D1 player of the year as a freshman ain’t too shabby!
Looking forward to continued success and development!
